I was wondering-
If I added some base rock for looks in my 50 gal, would it do any harm to an established tank? I have approximately 40 lbs in there right now, and it seems to be doing its job. I know that dead rock will eventually turn "live" which would be an added benefit for the future. I would like to add anothr 25-30 lbs or so. I believe fairly positively that my LR will seed the dead rock. There is an lfs here selling dry dead rock for about $1/lb. Do you guys see any problem adding more now? Thanks.

Shouldn't be any problem, since it's dead you dont need to cure it and you wont have any cycle, all you need to do is rinse it off and its ready to go into your tank.

Becareful there is no moss or bugs hiding in the rocks because it will cause an ammo spike if so. I did the same thing and my ammo went up 2nd time around I put it in a bucket for a couple weeks like it was live rock and sure enough when I tested for ammo it was up to about 2.0
