First let me thank you for for previous help - it was really useful and thinks are now stable.
I now need some more advice please. I have an Eheim wet/dry filter which I only have half full of of the filter media (I cut this down worried that it might be a nitrate factory) . Recently it has started getting very noisy and after power shutdown it often leaks (unless I regularly I replace the O-rings). Is it making a significant contribution to my tank or is it not worth the hassle. Should I replace it with something else?
I have a 300litre Juwel tank with internal filter, 40kg live rock, an external Eheim cannister filter, 4 powerheads, and a Red Sea prizm skimmer
6 medium sized corals, 3 cleaner shrimp, 1 Regal Tang, 1 Yellow Tang, 2 Angels, 1 Cleaner Wrasse, 1 Goby,2 Clown, 6 snails, 3 red leg hermits
It has been running fine for 12 months though my nitrate levels are higher than I would like.
Thanks guys - this forum is such a great help.
