Ok, well I feel pretty dumb for having to ask this... Is there any way to tell what type of tank that I have as far as manufacturer? I purchased this tank about three years ago and have broken one side of the glass canopy. I tried to swipe one from the All-Glass with sump, and it doen't fit. It seems that the center brace on the AGA is a little wider than on the unknown. The glass top had a clear plastic handle if that helps to identify who made the top. I can't find enough information about the glass tops other than to know that it isn't AGA. The aquarium uses black silicone if that is an indicator. Other than that, I have no clue and can't replace the top. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm.... the ones i get are made by Perfecto Mfg. and they always put a small white sticker on the bottom of the glass saying their name and when the tank was made. That's all I know though, no experience with any other mfg'er.

Good point. I have a smaller tank manufactured by Perfecto and it too has a sticker if I remember correctly. There is no sticker on this tank and it's definitely not AGA. Safe to assume that this would be Oceanic?

Oceanic, at least in the past, has produced glass aquariums. Is Oceanic the only manufacturer to use the corner label? You now, the big placard in the top right corner of the tank when new? I seem to remember having one of those cardboard signs in the corner. Just don't know if anyone else does that. This tank is definitely either AGA, Oceanic, or Perfecto. I do know that much. I also know that we can rule out AGA and possibly Perfecto.

1. Oceanic doesn't use Black Silicone

2. If it was an Oceanic, there would be a little sticker between the top frame and the glass, indicating the date it was made, the serial number and the inspector

3. Oceanic doesn't make any plastic tanks i know of.

4. There is no better tank then Oceanic, Imo :D

Here would possibly be another identifier. The AGA glass tops use a black handle that says All Glass. The one that fits mine is nothing more than a piece of clear plastic that slides over the glass. I never knew of Oceanic making acrylic aquariums, but I would not have sworn to it. The black silicone is a nice touch, but again I have no idea who does or does not put what. I vaguely remember the stikers that Oceanic uses. I have owned Oceanics in the past.

Ok... I got it all figured out. It is a Perfecto. Finally found what I was looking for and got it ordered. Of course while you are paying shipping, might as well tack on some other supplies. My bank account is quickly starting to look more and more like a reef aquarium! 8O
