Hi,
My name is Zac. I have had various freshwater aquariums throught my life but never salt water. While wondering through the LFS a couple days ago I saw some beautiful saltwater shrimp. I am extremely limited on space and have fantasized about having a .75 gallon tank for shrimp, I would love a reef tank but know I am definitly not ready for that. Before anyone tells me that its impossible for a beginner to have a small saltwater tank, I have read that Brandon429 never had a reef tank over 1 gallon. Could you make suggestions for a shrimp tank, how to go about aquascaping it, what kind and how many shrimp, and other possible organisms good for a beginner in a .75 gallon tank.
Thanks,
Zac

THREE QUARTERS OF A GALLON?!?!
Wow, call Ripley's on that one! Thats like a fish bowl! You couldnt even get a filter on there! I think you might be thinking of brine shrimp; food for other fish and inverts.
I dont know of any shrimp that could live in that size of a tank; the sheer proportions of everything just boggle my mind.

It's totally possible Zac. My LFS has a nano set up that is about the size you're talking about- less than a gallon. It's a tiny cube that has a tiny filter and a tiny light. Don't know the brand, offhand. They have a couple tiny pieces a live rock with a few zooanthids and a shrimp. Seems to work great. Dragoon, you know what I'm talkin about... But yeah, hit the nano forum.

It's a 1/2 gallon tank with a 7watt PC bulb and tiny power filter made by red sea for bettas. Little did they know it makes an awesome nano for a peppermint, 2 bumble bee snails, and about thirty zooanthids of vaarious shape sizes colors and so on and such. 8)

I've seen leathers in a 1 gal. nano that grew so fast they had to be cut, and often! Peppermint or a Cleaner are nice shrimp. Though cleaners are out more in the day than Peppermints. You Can Do IT!
