I have a Fluval 404, was planning on selling it to a friend of mine. Should
I keep to hook to sump and run carbon once in a while. Or just get rid of it.
1: If you have a coral/algae that decides to go "sexual" for some reason, you'll need to have a easy way to run carbon.
2: Good way to run a phosphate filter if needed.
3: If you lose your main pump, it can be a temporary back up whilst you replace the main. Gives you more time to shop for a decent one at a decent price, instead of having to drop money fast.
4: you'll never get close to the amount of money you spent on it.
Another rason to keep is when your doing your rock cleaning. turn that sucker on to help suck up any detris in the water once its done you can remove it. Kida works like a vaccum cleaner, I need one of those for that reason.
Sounds like you need something to "polish" the water. Maintenance folks really love the Magnum canister fitted with the diatom filter for this purpose.
I'm torn, I like the idea of helping a friend, but the Taz has some VERY valid points, too. Hrm. :|
