A lot would depend on the demensions of your 90. IMO a combination of 175 watt 10,000 K MH's (German bulbs)and Fluorescent VHO actinics give a nice crisp color to everything.

i have the same tank.
presently i am running dual 175W halides with VHO actinic.
i do have plans of upping the wattage on my halides though. what i am using was cannibalized off my last tank (46g) and would do very well in keeping soft corals or many LPS species. i don't have much livestock in there but so far it seems the SPS prefer to be above mid tank. my Xenia, mushrooms, and GSP seem happy as can be on the bottom but a monti. colony that fell down there started to slightly pale after a couple weeks.

so long story short, you need to have an idea of what you wanna keep in order to establish a minimum. but a couple 250W with VHO supplementation should do anything you might want to keep.
