I have a powder blue tang who is currently in a quarantine tank. It developed obvious ich after a few days so I slowly lowered the SG to 1.09 ( using a refractometer). One week after stabilizing at that SG. The ich returned and it appears there are also "black Spots" that I'm assuming is "black ich".
My question is along with the hyposalinity does the tang also need to be treated with fresh water dips? When he is returned to q-tank does he get re-infected with the black ich?
I'm doing daily water changes to control amonia levels.
Thanks in advance, I've learned so much from reading the posts and articles.

Hi Canania. Yes, for the black spot/ich freshwater dips are effective. You might need to lower the system's salinity a bit, to 1.007.

Also, assuming the q/t is bare-bottom, you should be siphoning off the bottom of the tank daily.

Btw, welcome to reefs.org!
