I have a 72 bow front reef ready tank. I have a 20 gal sump with a mag 9.5 for return. I'm looking to improve may water movement. Has anybody used a scwd with a rr tank? How should it be placed. Secondly I was looking to also add two maxi-jet 1200 on opposite sides of the tank and place them on a wavetimer.....any other suggestions?
As always thanks in advance!

I have a 75RR tank that i use a scwd on. My return on my tank is the mag 12 and the pump for the scwd is a 9.5. I used the hang on closed loop method. Water is drown out of the tank (not the overflow) and ran into the scwd then out each side to each end of the tank. Makes a nice back and forth surge.

I have 80g bow with mag 9.5 return from sump. For extra movment I have done the following...

3 maxi 1200 powerheads.

1 in the top corner where the return water flow is. This jet is connected to the back of the aquarium blowing forward at a slight angle. This water flow will mimic the curve of the glass if placed correctly.

1 on the same side as the return is on the middle of the glass on the side wall. This blows straight across the middle of the tank. This helps circulation through my rock formation.

The last is on the overflow side. On the side wall in the back corner at the bottom. I have this blowing stright across the back again. This will assist in moving the water in the back to keep any dead spots back there.

Hope this helps,
Good luck
