Will these two guys get along in a community tank? I have a 72 gallon with plenty of live rock and sand bed system with only community fish and would like both of these fish if they are compatable. ANy info before I purchase would be helpful.
Yes those can be mixed in that size community tank. Gobiodon okinawae ( Yellow Clown Goby ) and whatever genus and species ( there are 5 genus and over 80 species ) called Watchman Gobies you get. There may be posturing and bravado shown especially if they are the same color but there should be no harm done. Usually mixing the same species causes problems in Watchman Gobies.
Clown Gobies are normally associated with corals in which they inhabit and Watchman Gobies are associated with some species of Pistol Shrimp in which they form a symbiotic relationship with.
Both types of Gobies readily consume flake food, copepods, brine shrimp, shreds of meaty foods ( squid, mussels, shrimp, etc. ).
The main problem with both of these types of fish is they are prone to carpet surf so a covered top is a must.
