Hi! I've got my 55 gallon tank up and running for a little while now. Everything seems to be going well. We have Live sand and about 30 pounds of live rock. We have three blue/green chromis and 1 royal gramma and 1 cleaner shrimp. We were thinking of adding 1 more fish -- a cardianl fish and I've found like 3 different names for this guy...so I'll list them all, but its the same fish. Any thoughts on whether this combination will work?
The fish is: Kaudern's Cardinal/Banggai Cardinal/Pterapogon kauderni

Thanks!!
:)

Common names are confusing as anyone can make up a name for a fish. :)
They are all the same fish commonly called: Bangaii Cardinal.
I'd suggest you add a pair though.

Dunno if it is just me, but I have had bad luck w/ the Bangaii. If you get them, do get a pair, but also try to get tank raised (I hear they do better in the home aquaria)!

nahh.. been there too.. got a pair a while ago when i first started out.. didn't do too well either.. but more fault as i had them with a blue damsel and other fast swimming fish.. dem cardinals are slow and don't want to be competing for food... picky eaters too
