eventually I would like to add a anenome to my tank for my maroon clown. Iwould like a large one and hopefully one with good color but whatever I can have that will host my maroon will do. I have 354 watts of powercompacts in a 150 30" high. Any sugguestions questions or comments would be appreciated.

P.S. eventually means a month or two or more after my tank stabalizes a little more.

150 Gallon tank? Im not sure what a Premnas biaculeatus hosts to but maybe a E. quadricolor (bubble tip anemone)?

E. Quadricolor (bubble tip) does host maroons thats what I was looking at getting I had someone question if my lights were bright enough to support one what do you think? 354 watts of pc 30" tall live rock 14"-16" from surface.

yeah..if anything the anemone will move towards the light...i think it will be ok..how long has your tank been running?

Tanks been running about 6 1/2-7 weeks. I was going to wait for my tank to run awhile longer to make sure it will be ok.

Even though anemones can live 100 years or more in the wild, they rarely live more than 1 or 2 years in an aquarium. This tells me despite good intentions, an anemone is not a good aquarium animal. I guess I'll get flamed for saying this, but think about it before you buy one.

I would wait at least 6months....I disagree with anemones only living a year or two..I know someone who has had his for 4years...maybe that is the exception to the rule?

And that's cool! Point is most don't live nearly that long in someone's tank. I'm not sure if it's really a good thing to buy one knowing that most likley it will have a REALLY shortend lifespan.

I see what you are saying..i think the short lifespan of an anemone comes from not meeting the basic needs of that creature. Anemones are by no means too easy to care for..the acclimation of one alone can take up to several hours..i think it is silly that a carpet anemone or rose anemone can cost anywhere around $130 for it to die within a year or two...

My tank has been running for 8 months now & is just now finely staying stable enough for me to try an anemone. From what I have read having a tank that's stable with 0 nitrites, nitrates. & phosphates are what’s needed to keep an anemone.
