Silt

I just bought a new tank the other day and I'm in the process of setting up my first attempt at marine aquaria. I got fairly fine grade argonite (I liked the sandy look more than gravel), which after several dozen times of rinsing still seems to have had plenty of silt. My tank water is cloudy and slowly clearing. Is there a good way to filter that out? Or should I just be patient and let it settle?

you can try filtering, but surely it going to be clogged in no time. Just wait for it to settle, and make sure you don't stir up the sand unnecessily.

Usually takes aragonite a few days to settle. You can put in a pwerhead or two to get the water moving around seemed to help clear mine faster.

Oh yeah and "Dupaboy"???

I am sure we are related or met before...

Becareful about the powerhead while waiting for the water to clear... if you have one of those that come loose, and point the nozzle at the sand, you may ended up with a bigger mess....

Some says a piece of live rock or a small portion of live sand helps clearing up the cloudiness due to the "bacteria coating," but FWIW, I am not completely convinced about this explaination.
