I know this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread I saw a while back.

I'm running a Bak-Pak on a new tank (10 days old) and think I've finished my cycle alraedy.

I hooked up the venturi on the power head to start the skimming process and I've got a lot of micro-bubbles returning to my tank. I looked in the trouble shooting page of the owners manual and it wasn't much help.

I seem to remember someone else having the same problem and the remedy was a wood stone. I tried this and still have micro bubbles.

Or at least I think I've cycled.

0 amonia (only went to .25 for two days).
1.0225 gravity
0 nitrite
15 nitrate
78 degrees F

40 lbs live rock, 15 lbs live sand.

Brown algae started a few days ago.

The LFS said that with that much LR/LS, I may not see an amonia spike.

I had the same problem,,, I increased the amount of air going in (that little screw thingy) and it stopped the bubbles. I know it doesn't make sense.

Steve, give it time to break in.

Mine always shoots some bubbles, but not like it did when it was new. There are two bakpak accessotries, pre filter/skimmer box and bubble trap. Both are boxes that go inside the tank. I have the pre filter/skimmer box. Bubbles in the tank don't bother me like they do some people, so I haven't opted for the bubble trap. But, I also snaked an airline w/ airstone threw the bakpak.

I have heard that if you replace the rio 600 with the 800 the airstone isn't nessacary, but I haven't tryed that.

Other than cleaning the upper most area of the skimmer, I haven't done much maint. on it.
