I'm setting up my first reef tank and I'm ready to buy my lights. I have a 75 gal. all-glass with overflow, 20L sump w/ mag drive pump. I don't have the overhead room for metal halides. I've researched the power compacts, VHO (440 watts) and the Tek T-5 retros (6 x 54). Has anybody had any experience with the T-5's? As far as what type of corals, etc. I want to keep, well that depends on what the lighting will sustain and i'll pick accordingly. Info on any of these types of lighting for a 75 gal. tank would be appreciated. I will also be purchasing my live rock shortly and any input from your experience with online sellors would also help.
thanks again. almost up and running.

Haven't used T-5s myself, but from what I've seen of other people using them, 6 X 54 watt T-5s over a 75 gallon tank should be enough light for just about anything. You might have to keep the highest light creatures in the upper portions of the tank for best results.

BTW, in case nobody else has mentioned it... :welcome:

thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go with the T-5 Retro unless something spectacular comes along or else I run out of money first.
