Hi again all! Looking for some ideas here. My Remora skimmer ALWAYS has salt build up running down one side and under. Is this normal? I'm always scraping tons of it off. What size/brand pump is good for it? My tank is 65 gall. I run a Rio on it now.
I was advised to run a power head to get the scum off my sand etc. But what kind/output should I get? Is one enough or do I need one on each end?
I sure appreciate all the great tips from everyone!!! :D

It seems you have water leaking/dripping off that one side. I'd try to find where it is and see if you can stop it. It'll likely be where the salt creep originates (highest point of the creep). I recommend Maxijet 1200 for your Remora. It is a lot better then the Rio :)

As for powerheads to get the scum off your sand, it's really not necessary. You should just make sure there is plenty of flow throughout the tank for the general well being of the tank. Two powerheads on opposing corners, preferably on a timer or wavemaker, is ideal. Good water circulation is critical for a sucessful tank.

Hope that helps.
