hey, is it normal to have tiny white bugs in your tank? the tank is about 2 1/2 weeks cycled and i just noticed these barely discernible white bugs on the glass. i was wondering if any one could identify these little critters for me and let me know if they cause any proplems. there 2 small for a photo, sorry.

thanks!

they're most likely copepods and amphipods -- seeing them is a very good sign that your tank is on its way to becoming healthy and happy. there are quite a few critters you'll probably be buying that will make a good meal of many of these little guys, and they'll also do their part to help keep your tank clean.

about.com actually has a series of articles called, interestingly enough, "those little white bugs in your aquarium". http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/pestsc ... 061200.htm
