i am new to saltwater aquariums, i,ve had my setup for about 4 months. in that time i have lost a few fish , i lost three barrier reef cromis in one night!i have checked the water,quality was great! i have heard some clicking noises in the tank. if i have a mantis shrimp could it take out three small fish in one night? i would be greatful for some help! :?:

Depend on the size of the mantis relative to the chromis. However, if the mantis is really starved.......

You can easily bait the mantis out by using a tall glass jar with a inverted funnel opening. But, you have to starve the tank for several days to a week. If you have other fish in the tank, it's recommend you remove them first. Otherwise, they may became meal for the mantis before it fell in to your trap.

That is, you really have a mantis problem. Pistol shrimp also make clicking noise, but they are harmless.
