With a smaller tank, and a smaller bioload FOWLR tank...you might be able to get away with having that skimmer.

Mine has worked fine on my 55...but w. more bioload (anemone/corals/fish) it willl just not pick up the amounts that other brands do at heavier loads.

Also its noisey...its done its job, but when we get our big tank we will be getting a AquaC etc.... so if you plan on loading up your tank w. corals, and getting a bigger tank in the future I wouldnt bother wasting your money save up and go for a better one.

I hated my Prizm. It's a big piece-o-junk. Get the Aqua C Remora or the CPR Bak Pak. You'll spend more for for one of those, but if you buy the Prizm, you'll end up replacing it eventually because you'll get sick to death with fiddling with it.

I'm running the Remora on my 30 and am quite happy with it.

bout 8 months ago I went through the skimmer game, trying to figure out what would be the best for my particular setup while being most cost effective. I juggled around the blessed cyclone, the bakpak, remora, and yes the skimmer. While the cyclone was the cheapest there were VERY mixed reviews on it, and I didnt want to take the gamble of getting somthing I'd have to turn right around and sell on ebay. I researched the prism, and found that it had 2 main complaints, the noise...and the occasional overflow. Being in a living room, the prism wouldnt work. So it was between the Bak Pak and the Remora.... after doing extensive review reading on them both I ended up going with the slightly more expenseive AquaC Remora skimmer for around $150 with the Maxi Jet 1200 pump.

After having the tank up for 8 months I'm glad I made that decision. It is quiet, can't overflow, and does a GREAT job of skimming.

If budget allows I would recommend the AquaC Remora.

B.
