I need help finding out what is wrong with my Niger trigger. A couple of days ago he developed a light colored spot on what I'll call his chin. This morning it was a hole which seems to be completely through because I see something moving as he breaths. Can someone give me some idea of what this is and how I can treat it. I tried to move him to the hospital tank this morning before work but he hid in the rocks. I hope to net him tonight at feeling time. He has not eaten in two days, but still comes out with the others. He is in a 55 gal reef and was suppose to be the first to move to the new 120 gal which is now 6 weeks old. Any help will be welcome.

Sounds like it might be an abrasion that's gotten infected. The way their chin juts out like that, they're prone to getting it rubbed raw on rockwork (or more likely the glass).

If you can QT him, maybe a good antibiotic (I'm not too up on my fish disease treatments, so hopefully someone else can help more).
