I would really like to thank you all for your replies! Now I'm nearly determined to purchase a recommended piece of equipment...I think that when it comes to my tank's gallonage(~65gal -> ~250 lt) and taking into account my preference to a hang-on solution, the Deltec MCE600 skimmer tends to be the ultimate choice! What's your opinion? I have to mention that in my country (Greece) Deltec is not as much popular as in the rest of Europe and the USA. So the LFSs seem to ignore this brandname and I'm gonna make it through the Internet! The company's link is http://www.sewatec.de and it offers this skimmer at the price of EURO249.00 and furthermore I decided to purchase the RO unit that Sewatec has built, the SEWATEC OSMOTEC 230lt/day - with pressure gauge and flushing valve in a price of EURO159.00! I need encouragement, especially from (mainly European)reef-afficionados who have experience with this company or with the products I described...Many thanks in advance again!

Everything I heard about the MCE600 says it's nice. It doesn't work like the spray injection AquaC (it's a needle wheel). Both seem to work well. I say buy it and let us know how it performs :)

Wouldn't the needle wheel make a lot more noise than the Remora? The lack of noise was one of the best selling points for me when I bought my first Aqua C.

How much is that in USD?

The currency between EURO and US$ is approximately 1 - 1... So EURO249
is about $250-260!I know it will sound quite expensive to you, but in Europe when it comes to aquaristic -imagine marine reef-equipment and livestock things seem to be of much higher cost than in the USA! If it weren't for taxes and shipping cost, we(here in Europe) would all mail order our equipment from the USA...[/quote]

For all your currency exchange needs go to XE.com for the latest rates. Right now the Euro is 1.32579 USD. OK there's my site recommendation for the day :D Good luck on the skimmer :)

I'm about to mail order it, as well as the RO unit of SEWATEC (the OSMOTEC 230lpd) and consider some 10-15 days until they are shipped to Athens...Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the forum :D ! I'll keep you all informed, by the arrival of anything!

That pump looks like a pain to get at to service.

The pump is really quite easy to remove. Also, it's larger and more powerful than a Remora. The going price in the US is $446.00. The dollar is getting hammered against the Euro these days, so it "ain't cheap", but it's a fantastic hang-on. A guy in our club has one on 50gal. SPS prop tank. Impressive for a HOB.
