Well it looks as though my angel has ich...
not sure, it has what appears to be loss of color patch with a scratch in the middle just above his eye.
I see some lack of color around his mouth (circular in form)
I say lack of color because it looks more like that than white spots.

Any ideas??

I added Garlic Xtreme to my feeding tonight. my water is fine. i did add some polyps and 8 zebra hermits a couple days ago.

Edit: it is 9pm- color has returned ! Is this normal????

That doesn't sound like Ich. It's probably just a pigmentation shift, which fish can do. Fish's colors are due to chromatophores. Normally, the chromatophrores are on the "on" position, but when stressed, some fish won't expend energy maintaining these colors. Some fish shift colors naturally, such as butterflyfish which look different at night then during the day. Others change colors when mating or for aggressive displays.

How can I tell if it is pigment loss vs. hole in the head????
What are the beginning symptoms of this?? are they similar???
The loss of pigment are right between the eyes and a little bit above them.
I am concerned.

"hole in the head" (if you mean, head and lateral line disease) really isn't that common in angles. What type is yours?
