Some of you may remember I wa shaving trouble keeping shrimp. After getting shrimp from a different LFS, I now have 2 I have had for almost 2 weeks, and a pepermint I have had for a month. I picked up 2 emerald crabs at the LFS with the low SG about 2 weeks ago (same day I added the 2 cleaners, diff LFS).

2 nights ago, the 2 emeralds just up and died for no apparent reason.
All 3 shrimp are fine, all fish and corals fine, snails, pods, etc...

One emerald crab I have had for a few months now is still alive. Could he of killed them? Could the acclimation of killed them almost 2 weeks later? I thought temperature drops at night, but 125 gallons of water? I checked it in the morning before the lights came on for the day, and it was only like 2 degrees lower then peak temps.

(I assume crabs don't molt?)

Yes crabs molt.

A few reasons fro crustaceans to croak:

1 - Osmotic shock from rapidly changing salinity. Water changes, rapid topoff, etc. yes - damages from osmotic shock can show up weeks later.

2 - Excess Iodine forces them to molt too often to expell the toxin.

3 - Copper causes a total system shutdown. Common in tap water.

Yep. Sometimes it looks like a twin. They do tend to hide sometimes after molting.

LOL, the anemone part reminds me of the time I was stung by one, and didn't have any vinegar in the house. I had to pee on the back of my hand to make the stinging subside.
