I just set up a new tank with a sump underneath. I have 2 Rio 2800SS pumps in the sump sending the water back to the tank. They are really loud. Are they suppose to be that way? One of them makes a clicking noise as though there wasn't enough water or there are air bubbles in the impeller. But both of them makes a humming noise and vibrates the ground around the sump. I have 2 Rio 1700 circulating water to my algae scrubber, and I hardly know they are running when they are the only pumps running.
I wondering if the pumps are defective, or are they just like that. Are there other pumps that less obtrusive?
thanks,
Jerome :?:
