Help Setting Up First Marine Tank

Hi there, andylou you seem to know your stuff, I have got tropical fish at the moment and my friend at work as given me a tank today that he used to keep tropical fish in but got bored it is a 80cm L x 50cm H x 35cm W, I have never kept any marine fish before, I want to set the tank up and keep it running for a month or 2 before I put any fish in I also want live rock can you give me some tips on setting it up please.

I think it will do good for you to get a start off with some books to read on. Typical bookstore books will give you a generalized pic of what is involved with SW tanks. You should judge afterwards, if you really want to indulge into this money pit.
