Alright well i know i've posted here about brown algae before, and I got like a billion different opinions on how to get rid of it. Gobies, star fish, snails, crabs, better circulation, and so on. Well...i've heard positives and negatives on all of these critters and methods, so until I decided whether I want a goby and risk killin my live sand and so on and so forth, could I just take my hand or a powerhead and stir the very top of the sand for now? I'm thinkin that would bury the algae some. But i have no idea if this is a good way. Any ideas? Thanks!

The best way to get rid of brown algae, imo, is excellent water conditions. Regular water changes with RO or RO/DI water, a reasonable bioload, and light feedings will do wonders, albeit slowly. Any livestock purchased to get rid of algae is iffy at best...again, imo.

I'll restate what the last 2 posts have said. About the only way to get rid of algae is to have good clean water over a long period of time. It may take a month or so, but clean water will do the best job. I had a bloom a few weeks ago. I persisted in water changes and cleaning then a few days ago I woke up one morning and the algae was just GONE. It outgrew itself I guess.
