I use these...

Thick and heavy duty... especially re-enforced around the hand... palm and fingertips. Only complaint is they're not the best for detailed intricate work, so sometimes I go in bare handed. For most tasks though, keeps your hands dry and clean and any residue outa the tank.

On a side note, IMO it is STUPID not to wash your hands after they're in the tank. Not only is the salt irritating, I second the concern about millions of bacteria floating around in there. Not a good idea to be passing that along to your food, eyes, etc.

I have those too Jandree, but rarely use them. One size does NOT fit all. The blasted things are huge on me and makes it difficult to work in the tank.

haha, I can agree with that... they are large. I've got relatively large hands and I'm 6'1", so they fit me good.

One comment on those considering these gloves... the water pressure does suck them to form your hand and arm, so they somewhat take a custom fit in the water. However, as just mentioned, they're still large.

Now my cat scratched one of my hands, so now I HAVE to use gloves. I assume an infection would soon follow w/o 'em.... Bad Kitty.

Yeah, I have those too. I call them "tank armor" because that is all I use them for. The rest of the time, I go in bare-handed. My ocellaris bite pretty hard right after a spawn, and my yellow tang doesn't like anyone mucking about after dark when he can't see them coming.

I wash my hands with soap and water and rinse well before and after. I just go in bare handed. Almost got nailed by my lion and rabbit fish a few times.
