Any of the Scott Michael books talk about them, but I am unaware of a book that is angler specific.

Feeding preferences: the can eat something as big as they are, but that can kill them. They ambush prey on fish and crustaceans. The general consensus is that feeding them freshwater prey isn't a good idea, and if you can switch them to something frozen like krill or silversides it would be better. If you have to feed freshwater animals, ghost shrimp are better than goldfish (there is some concern of the copper content of feeder goldfish).

Anglers are extremely sensitive to copper, so keep it away!

Thats all I can think of now, I'll try to dig up more.

:D

BTW,
Nice looking angler!

I have a friend who puts about 5 damsels in his 24g frogfish tank every 6 weeks or so,,,, it seems happy enough.

My guess from seeing the 2nd picture would be Antennarius multiocellatus, though to be certain I need a much closer, sharper picture of the head and dorsal fins.
Do you have any idea where this was collected from?

I wonder if they would eat fiddler crabs. If so it could be a cheap food source if you are near the coast.

There is some question regarding fiddler crabs and their digestibility. Lots of pointy shell!

Whoa there! I eat fiddler crabs and there's nothing wrong with me!

:P

Dewd, very nice fish you have there. Is this a reef tank? What species of fish are you keeping in it besides the angler? Your fish resembles the Histrio histrio (Sargassum angler) species.
Here is some info on them:

Good luck :)
