Does anybody have any input on the carpenter wrasse? I'm thinking about getting one because they look beautiful in pictures, but I thought i'd ask around first. Thanks! Oh, and it might sound dumb, but turbo snails only clean the glass, right? not the substrate?

Paracheillinus carpenteri are a marvelous fish for a non-aggressive covered tank. They readily accept small shreds of meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, mussels, eel etc. which should be enriched with something such as Selco. Multiples may be kept in the tank though unless you have a male female pair only keep multiple females.
As far as Turbo snails there are a few species imported as Turbos some more delicate than others. All will clean the glass, rock and sand of algae and diatoms.

I had 3 carpenter flasher wrasses, I now have one, the female is all that is left.

I never found out what happened to the males, I personally think that since they liked to hide down low in my rock that my giant brittle star ate them.

They are nice looking fish, the males especially, do have a well covered tank because when they get scared mine heads up

Make sure your tank is covered real good, my tank was covered and taped down for eels and the carpentar wrasse still found a way out, and was cooked on the top of the glass. it jumped through the glass and the drop-box. i dont know how but it did. just wanted to warn you
