Is it normal for sand sifting stars to come up out of the sand bed? I cam home and he was cruisin the top of the sand bed, reburied himself a little later, and now is back up cruisin again. is this normal or should i be worried?

It's going to die before getting huge. These stars are known to die of starvation (legs falling of et cetera...).

I don't have a sss, but I read a lot of posts regarding them dying of starvation.
Here is an idea, not sure if it works, but maybe you could try it?
I feed my tankmates ocean nutritional's algae frozen food-sorry I don't know the exact name of it right now at work-but wondering if you couldnt just take a small chunk of it, and bury it right near the the star? or a couple of smal chunks around it?
just a thought, im at work wasting time
