I always enjoy the tech side of the hobby and enjoy getting the best gadgets. However I can go overboard and just want to get some opinions on my 10gal setup.

The lights I'm happy with 96Watt PC, but I have a Seaclone skimmer running that I pulled from the basement on it. I made some small changes, but is that enough of a skimmer?

And do I really need a calcium reactor? They seem like a lot of fun to tinker with :)

Thanks, I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets lured in by new equipment.

Calcium rxtor is an overkill for 10 gal. It will take up more space than the tank itself, and you won't be efficiently use it even if you get the smallest model.

Seaclone skimmer maybe sufficient, but I would get something better, like CPR bakpak or a Remora... it is on the borderline.

yeah, I'd agree. You may want to drop a few posts in the nano forum here as well. You might get other ideas. :)

Yeah I had a feeling the Calcium react would be a bit much. I'll pop over to the nano forum for some ideas.

Or just ask the mod/admin to move the thread for you....

I am modding my seaclone and saw someone suggest,

"remove the airline valve with a precision needle(air) valve"

Only problem is that I can't seem to find one of these needle valves. Anyone have a link?
