Had the night lights on and saw a serpent looking creature coming out my rock. It looked to be over 8" in length and maybe longer! It was creeping up behind one of my emerald crabs and once the crab felt him he turned and snapped at it and that was it. It had a head shaped like a small grass snake with a white body and a brown stripe down the length of its exposed area. The diameter was about the size of a pencil lead. After that, I haven't seen it. Was this a harmful creature to my crabs, sps corals and shrimp?

The stripe down the length means it's probably a Terebellid tentacle and not the actual worm. If it were thicker maybe a Nemertean but pencil lead thickness and over 8" has feeding tentable written all over it.

Terebellid Worms are beneficial detritus consumers.
