Yes, the indopacific variety can grow very fast, since it stalk can grow very long.

Frag some of it off and see if you can sell it to local people. It can disappear much faster than it grow, so don't be surprised that you don't have any left in a week.

I have xenia (elongata and the red sea variety) both of which spread WAAAAAY to fast. I cut a piece everytime I put my hand in the water. I hate it! I cant stop it... I even flip rocks over to stop it, and when I flip the rocks back over in a month, it just starts growing again!!!

Do what 7E said, frag it, and give it away. I know the LFS around me will even give store credit.. they sell it for 16$ a frag! I just throw it away, as noone around me needs any...

I trade in my RSP xenia at the LFS. It grows on the side of one piece of LR and I put rubble rock on top and it grows onto the rubble. In one year, I've amassed a credit of about $900. You might see if you can get credit for it at your LFS. Although your variety is not as popular as the pink red sea pulsing variety that I have.

I have the exact same xenia you do. I love it but is is also taking over my tank. It drives me crazy. I have been trying to sell it off to LFS's (1) but they don't want to take too much of it and (2) I have to mount it to a small rock first. This makes it easier to sell so they won't take it any other way. However, I end up getting about $20 a head. That's good stuff, even if that store is way over priced.

I am currently getting rid of it cheap. In some cases, you got a bag, I got xenia.

Anyone in the S. Fla area want to trade? I am looking for more acro's.
