Finally got my 120 in. Will spend the next couple of days plumbing and tweaking. I am not the best with the cam. Pics do not do the custom cherry stand justice.

I will post as I go. The skimmer is a Euroreef 135 The sump is a 30 gallon by Reef Innovations. The closed loop will be driven by the the Dolphin Ampmaster 3000 you see and the sump return is pushed by another Ampmaster 2100. The closed loop will be fitted out with Line Lok adjustable nozzles for a wide array of circulation variables. There will be five locations. My setup initially will be BB I have a Geo Calc reactor on the way and my lighting will be accomplished with 2 each 250 watt Ushio 10,000k MH and two each 96 watt VHO Blue actinics with Ice Cap ballasts.

The chiller is a Pac West 1/6 HP. I am feeling like a little kid in a candy store. I will pick up my LR on Monday. My LFS has been holding it curing it in thier tanks for two weeks. I figure I will cure it anothe two and should be good to begin slowly adding a few critters if parameters allow. My water supply is furnished via a AquaFx Mako model 5 stage RO/DI unit with two DI fliters. Comes with a TDS gauge and a pressure gage.

Well thats about it for now. Time to go at least touch some of this stuff. Been waiting way to long..... Sprung says that patience is requred to have a killer reef, but I almost ran out of patience :eek1:

Sweet. Setting up new tanks is fun.

What kind of livestock are you planning on keeping?

THat is sweet!

I have a couple of comments and questions.

What is the dehumidifier looking thing next to the chair? Pic number DSCN1777

And lastly a comment.

Dang them for putting a sale sticker on a nice cherry cabinet!

You would think people that make stuff with cherry would tell the stores not to place stickers anywhere on it.

How long did they tell you that sticker shadow would remain?

It should all equalize fairly quickly as the sun gets to the previously covered portion.

Nice looking woodwork on the canopy!

OH, and are you going to put some kind of door stop down so the door doesn't slam into the tank?

Cause that would suck....

Keep posting pictures, Mines set up already so I don't get to have this kind of fun anymore...

It is a Pacwest chiller. Yea the dang store did tell me with time the sticker fiasco would fade in. Sort of pi***** me off but oh well. For the long run I will be focusing on softies and LPS/SPS with a few reef friendly finned ones. I will take care to learn how to keep water parameters in line before I stock. Even when I really get a feel for this hobby I am not going to overstock.

The door should not be a problem...... As this is not the final resting place. Boss lady mhhh mhhhh you know who I speak of will be the final judge of where she wants it. Maybe I can convince her to let me keep it in the bedroom LOL........ Yah it was just where it got dropped after lugging it all long distance. I was tuckered out

As thus begins the real argument between husbands and wives:

I want the tank here!

No, I don't like it there, put it over here!

I don't like it there, it's impracticle there (too much sun, not viewable enough, no near electrical outlets, etc.).

I don't care I don't want you to put it anywhere but there or in the basement!

I need to go get a drink now! I'll be back later to put the tank where I wanted to put it in the first place, as you wouldn't let me buy the bigger one I really wanted! (Leaves, slamming the door on the way out, which causes harmonic tremors near the tank, causing tank to subsequently shatter, as result, gets to buy bigger tank later).

Total cost: Original smaller tank stand and lighting: $2,000

New bigger tank, bigger stand, and more lighting for: $4,000

Months of marital counseling: $3,000

Getting tank always wanted: Priceless.

Now, if this would have only happened to me...............
