What could have happened in 2 hours time that killed all fish in the tank except for my 3 clownfish?

This morning everything was fine, then later I spotted one dead and within 2 hours almost all fish died. I haven't checked all results yet but Nitrate is ok, PH little low at 7.7. Waiting for new tests to arrive here (I'm out)...

Haven't changed anything in the tank for weeks and everything has been normal up to this morning....

:(

Hi and :welcome:

If you give us more information we might be able to help (ie. describe your setup, tell us how old the tank is, how long have you had the fish and what species died, etc.)

The fact that your pH is running low may be an indication of inadequate aeration. Was it running on the low side before, or did it just drop after the fish died?

Thanks!

I think I figured out why all the fish died... One of the anemones wandered off and got stuck in the inlet for the pump. Apparently it got some poison and that might explain why the clowns didn't die but all others...

I had no idea... Will have to protect that water inlet better I guess.
Relatively new to marine aquariums so I learned the hard way.. :(

Thanks
Rob
