I have been able to maintain my ph above 7.8. It maintained at 8.2 for 3 days, so I added some corals.
My ph has now for a few days sat at 7.8.
I am going to add fans to the top to make more waves to encourage gas exchange, as I heard this hilps to raise ph.
I have two pumps, one pushing 1540 l/h the other 1000 l/h . there is indeed a fair amount of flow.
Along with a skimmer.
The xenia is pulsing still, and is very healthy, but it has moments where it will clench its hands into fists for a while, sometimes up to an hr, I heard they close up completely if the ph is too low. They havent done this yet, but they are showing signs.
the starburst coral looks unhappy, it hasnt opened up at all since I have gotten it. Only 5 opened up, but since then none.
Torch coral is happy as ever, and the sun coral came out for feeding before lights out on the first night, it looks very healthy. along with the leather.
ammonia- o
nitrites- 0
nitrates- 0
i havent got a test kit for calcium or alkalinity.
what else should i do? I must be doing something wrong?
