Hi everybody

I wanted to know what you guys think of this.

Someone is selling me a 180 tank with 1- 900 maxijet, 3- 600 maxijet, wet dry, with 250 lbs of live rock, VO5 lights, with stand, 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, 2 pepermint shrimps, 1 naso tang, 1 hippo tang, 1 worm goby (huge), 1 -8" purple starfish, 1 sand sifter goby, 150 lbs of sand, 1 carpet anemone, 2 sps corals, about 20 small red mushroom corals, 1 leather coral, 1 purple tang , 1 sailfin tang , (plus about a 6 month worth in sea weed, brine shrimp, the 2 part alk and calcium, coralvite,) 2 hydor koralia water circulation pump, 1- wavemaster pro, 1 banded shrimp. Its been set up for a year the person is relocating over seas and cant take the tank.

All for 1,600 I saw the tank and it looks great but how much more will I have to spend on it? I have a 48 gallon that I will keep also at least for a while for emotional reasons, whats my electric bill gonna look like for the 180? Btw Ive only been on the hobby since july 06. I dont know if I should buy it , it seems like a lot of work but its so beautiful. The rocks are full of purple and pink coraline.

It is alot of work and $$$$. I say go for it if you think you're up to the challenge of a huge tank. Also is the tank reef ready? Sounds like it is a straight tank with water movement supplied by alot of powerheads (more work.....)
btw - I didn't see lights capable of sustaining SPS corals for that size tank.

It seems to me that in order to run a reef tank, you will need to upgrade the lights in order to maintain the SPS that he has. The wet dry needs to go, but depending on the type it can be used as your sump. You will need a skimmer, and a decent sized one for a 180. Circulation seems a bit weak as well, not a fan of those powerheads for that size tank.
