If you're going to keep an anemone in a tank with powerheads, you really really really need to use some sort of a prefilter on the pump intakes. Most powerhead brands have their own (like for maxijets, it's http://www.thatpetplace.com/Products/KW ... mdy00.aspx )

They're a pain in that they need to be rinsed frequently, but using them pretty much gaurantees you won't have a similiar (or worse) incident happen down the road.
