I have a 330L tank and wanted to keep a picasso trigger, i also want to keep clen up crew and possibly some mushroom coral, am thinking about changing my choice to a dwarf lionfish instead, have been told that they are lazy fish and that inverts are often safe in a tank. I really lke the picasso but having my doubts about its compatibility within the tank, which would you rather have in the tank, ahs any one kept a dwarf lionfish, what are they like?

Depends what you mean by inverts. Snails, Hermits, Coral, Anemones, Urchins, Cucumbers, Stars, Lobsters, Worms, etc. all can easily be kept in a dwarf lion's company. Shrimp will be devoured, as will small fish.

I have personally kept a fuzzy dwarf with lots of crabs and snails- as well as two damsels, a bicolor blenny, and a white tailed dwarf angel. Lots of coral too. However, the one peppermint shrimp was eventually caught and eaten.

In my LFS they have a tank in the window which has a lionfish in. There are shrimp in the tank with it and it seems to leave them alone, is it just that they are lucky? Do you have any suggestions on another fish, want a fish that is different. Wanted the picasso but would like inverts as well.

I have read some of the articles upon the lionfish, they are not as easy to keep as you are led to believe. Feeding seems to be the main problem. Do you have any suggestions, i want a fish that looks different but is compatible with inverts. Would love a picasso but want to have shrimp in the tank as well. I want a fish that has personality and is something that is eye catching. Have been looking at blue chinned trigger, it is a possibility.

I've kept a Volitan, a picasso, and a coralbanded shrimp together for about a year. They seem to get along fine. The Trigger is only aggressive towards my new Harlequin Tusk.

I am thinking not to get either of these and opt for a copperband butterfly instead, saw one in a shop and it looked good. It seems that i see a fish in a shop for the first time and i find i like that instead. I would still like a picasso, that would be my first choice but i want to keep starfish and inverts as well. Anyone kept a copperband.

They are usually are reef safe, but if you have any featherdusters they will destroy them. Any worms will be gone for sure. They won't mess with you inverts.

I had heard that they are hard to get to feed, the guy at the LFS said that he will order one in if i want one, he will keep it for two weeks to make sure that it is feeding ok, if not get me a new one in. Still not sure on my final decision, any other suggestions greatly appreciated.
