You were going throught the algae phases - experiencing diatoms and possibly cyanobacteria. Hermits will fight each other but shrimp will generally only "eat" dead things.

I know it's been a while since you posted this and you haven't really been back. I just wanted to know how your tank is doing. :)

Let us know and post some more pictures when you can.

I have a hydor flo head on a aquaclear 201 powerhead for some random flow along with the hob for flow wich i want to mod into a fuge. I have my water tested for me at my fav LFS and have been dosing a for alk and calc and i top off sometimes 2 times a photoperiod because i am running the tank open top and i get alot of evaporation due to a fan used to stabilize temp. I have nearly 20 pounds of live rock between the display and whats in the filter. I have one maroon clown and thats it on fish. I have one cleaner and 2 peppermint shrimp and varity of snails crabs and hitchikers and pods like crazy cause i dont have anything that eats them.

A few more of the SPS:
DSC00798.jpg

birds nest that came into contact with the green hairy sps coral on accident... looks like it killed the bottom portion of my birds nest while the green coral was not affected:
DSC00813.jpg

A shot of the acro i plan to get rid of due to i have another peice that i like where it is mounted.. these two get knocked around due to not being mounted and they are getting im my way more than anything now:

Here is one from above of the same type its a crappy pic but it kinda shows what i mean by green:

Excess nutrients or lack of light can cause loss of color. If they are gaining color now and you dont change anything, they should get more color. You definately must get a bigger tank to accomodate your need to have sooo much diversity.
