I have a decent size monti cap frag, and when i epoxied it down a small piece broke off. This was about 4 months or so ago. The smaller piece did not take well at first. About a month ago I noticed it was looking pretty good. 2 days ago I noticed part of it is now bleached. The are both the same height, current, all is the same. Should I be concerned for my big piece. My lights are about 5 months old now, all VHO. Everything else is perfect in the tank.

Where is the bleached area located on the colony/frag? How prevelant is the area? I wouldn't worry about the bigger frag, but of course keep your eye on it. Your tank chemistry looks excellent, and I don't think the lighting could've done this either.

Well the frag in general is a little bigger than a quarter. Keeping that into perspective, the bleached area would probably occupy GW's forehead. The bleached area is the closest area facing the tank glass. Still it is about 6 inches from the glass. My larger one has a good growth pattern, and the polyps are taking care of business as usual. Oh yeah I have another decent sized Monti cap(purple) and it too is doing great.

Thanks Len.

I wouldn't worry then. Something may have nipped it or fallen on it, causing the tissue to bleach or recede. It doesn't sound like anything is wrong on a wholesale level, and my guess is this small frag will recover just fine too.
