Welcome to RDO, Concrete! :D

I don't know what kind of angel it is but it looks like it's about to take a bite out of your sun coral and then your hammer coral!!!

Funny :) He is actually about 5" in front of the Sun Coral (Optical Ill.) and that's not Hammer, It is a LT Anenome..

He is actually pretty Reef-safe? The only thing that he picks on is a Sponge that came with my Live-Rock, The minute he picks on one of my Coral's I'm gettin rid of em!! But, Like I said, He's been pretty good so far..

Here is my Hammer:

Yeah, It looks like a Queen but the little Notch on the Top of his head Throws me off(Look Closely). Thats why that guy at the store told me it might be a hybrid...

yeah maybe, i have only been in the salt water for less than a year, avid fresh for 20 somthing years,

I have bought my share of neat looking birth defected freshwater fish in my time. think it could just be a genetic defect?

These were my thoughts exactly(give or take a year or two of FW) when you pointed out the notch. I too have had my share of deformed fish. I vote birth defect. Sorry, probably not some rare breed.

Just kidding about the way the pictures look! :D I had a pigmy angel (c. argi) that was doing great with all my corals and then grew an appetite for my LPS, especially the ones I liked most! Good luck with yours!

The tentacles on that LTA are flat like one of the hammers I have. Sorry! :P

I'll go with the BD Theory. But What is it, a Blue or Queen??

I worked a few years in Miami as a wholesaler so I'll tell you what I remember. Queens have a full "halo" (fluorescent ring on head) and blues don't. The hybrid is called a Townsend (sp.) angel and has a partial halo, more or less, depending on gene expression. I think you have a Townsend but a head on shot would make it clear. The fish is either slightly deformed (a common deformity, btw) or had an earlier injury. Looks healthy otherwise. Queens and blues do like a lot of sponge in their diet but also eat a lot of veggies. Try some seaweed or formula 2 (or 1?, you know, the veggie diet).-Jim
