new skimmer

Do you think this skimmer is a good deal at 350?
It's a MY REEF CREATIONS MR-2R and all of it is new, owner bought it before the tank and it won't fit in his stand.

MRCs are good skimmers I looked at them before going with an octopus.

IS it $350 just for the skimmer or for all the parts. The dual becket MR-2 is $410 from MRC. The waist collector is another $75 (4.5x12 is what I guessed it is). Not sure what the pump is. Looks like a panworld 50 which is $140. Here are links to each item.

FYI Panworld and blueline are the same pump same company just a different name plate.

For the whole package I would say it is a good deal.

are the pumps quiet.?Bought it he sent it out today.Now I just need to get it in the house and set up without my wife seeing it,lol

Yes, I have one now on my 160 gal (150ps) and had one on my 60 gal (50PX IIRC). My fans make more noise than the pump. I can not hear it over the water flowing and fans. I suggest putting it on some kind of dampener mat and securing the pump to something solid. I use a neopreen mouse pad and secure the pump to my stand base. If not you may get a hum from the pump vibrating against whatever it is sitting on.

i agree good deal.. very nice skimmer .. they are fairly expensive and seem to be well made. From what I can tell they ahve good customer service too.. always answer my e-mails.

The mouse pad sounds to be a good Idea ,seeing how I have a buttload of them laying around.

I figure since I will be in trouble anyhow anyone know of a good place to get some ppe's and other cool corals.Been looking all around but can't seem to find them..
