anybody make DT's before?

I am brewing some home brew DT's in my basement in a 5 gallon bucket with a light on it. It has been almost a week and I can not see the bottom of the bucket anymore. anybody know how long it takes to mature?

hey I have new results after a week of mildly see through green water. it has become dark green in 2 days after I added plant and tomato growth food. (not miracle grow) just plain old granular plant food. I do plan on making a new batch with liquid miracle grow next week and start it from scratch. maybe sunday I will strain this batch and see if it destroys my tank!!! people say use a coffee strainer, any advise??

Any fine strainer should do just fine. I've known people who use convection sugar strainers.

I don't know how to make them but I'll try yours out in my tank. When there ready, Ill sub them in with my DT's a see if I notice any change in my corals. If I see no change I'll go all shavo's instead of dt's. Humm give me a bottle of shavo's sounds better than DT's . Good luck Buddy

no problemo, you can have some give me a bottle to fill up I had to dump some out yesterday because I didn't have enough bottles to hold it!!!. it isn't as dark as DT's but i think it is ok, this new batch I will make darker.

I used some in my tank yesterday and everything seems fine!
