Hey, s

So I am totally new to everything, and got a cleaning crew today, and I got a cucumber instead of a star, and when I recieved it, it had stuff coming out of it, Im assuming it was its organs/toxins. What can I do to make sure my tank does not go under?

hey i don't know much about them, however, I would first try to identify it, then if you have a qt tank i would put him in there for a while to see if he settles down, i assume you ordered online. it may have been a rough ride and only putting out defenses or something like that. It probably won't hurt anything but to be safe keep it out of the tank if you can or if you have some kind of container I would float it in that to keep temperature. sorry I am not to familliar with them, nobody answered you so I am taking a shot at it.

did you google to find some info??? see if you can first identify it them research to see if they are safe??? just a thought

The toxicity of cucumbers varies. Yellow cucumbers don't usually cause a melt down; however, some (the sea apple?) are very toxic. Particularly their gills.

Chances are you cuke just spilled its guts - literally. Its a defence mechanism when cukes are stressed/attacked .. unfortunately many cukes that do that end up starving to death.
