I am new here and new to reef keeping. I had a 130g. SW fish only back in the 70s but gave it up since I wanted corals. My best friend just gave me her 95 All Glass Wave set up complete except for animals and live rock. She moved all her stock to a 210.

My best friend had the wave for 2-3 years, trouble free. Her xenias multiplied all over the tank. She moved everything to the 210 about three weeks ago. Yesterday her pulsating, and pom-pom xenias had 3-5 white spots on them. Today they are limp and dying. She says the white spots look attached, or like ring-worm? would look. Various sizes etc.

I know you all like set up info, but I have no clue. I guess what I want to know is, does this sound like disease or water/light problems.

Sorry I am so sketchy, and I did search other archives of other lists and boards and came away with nada.
Thanks for your help with this.

i haven't the faintest idea about the xenia issue, except that....if she transferred her own livestock to a larger tank, how could it be disease?
did she cycle the new tank with new rock or introduce some new livestock since the move?

DUH! yes, she did add new corals. She used all her old live rock, and water and sand. She had to add water of course, but the sand and rock she had enough of. So she could have easily introduced a disease.
I was just hoping someone was familiar with the "white spot" thingy precluding a death.
Thanks for the help
