So Ive had this guy (Yellow Watchman Goby) for a while ~5 months and I got him online. He looked fine when I got him but about 2 weeks after that I noticed this redness on his lip. Its still there but doesnt seem to be bothering him. He eats normally, and sifts through sand normally. It just looks bad and I can see redness below his eye.

Any clues as to if its a disease or parasite and what to do?

All water params are normal.

My clownfish got a cut on his lip or something right after I bought him and his lips swelled up pretty bad. Even though it looks strange, he kept eating and after about a month he had healed and was back to normal. My guess is that he will eventually heal himself, or it will get infected and you'll be in trouble.

With good water quality, a good diet and low stress I'd have expected it to heal by now. It could be a secondary bacterial infection brought on by a minor injury. If it gets worse you might try setting up a small hospital tank/container and treating with a wide spectrum anitbiotic like Furan-2.

Tanks for all your help. I have a quarantine set up. He went through that whole process, but he seems so happy and healthy, except for that mouth, alongside his buddy that I didnt want to remove him to the QT.

Ill keep an eye on him and see if it gets any worse.
