I had an accident with my aquiarium about a year ago that killed all my livestock...it was a sad day. Anyway, I knew I was going to move so I didnt set it back up. I am in my new house and mounting my lights tonight and will start to fill it back up this weekend...I cant wait to see it all up and running again.

Here is my question.|
When I started it before I had about a 2-2 1/2inch sand bed of CaribSea Special Grade Reef Sand. I am wanting to do a deep sand bed this time and a friend told me that the Oolite grade sand is what is recommended for the best preformance of a DSB.

1) Can I put my existing Reef Grade sand in and then fill the last 2 inches with Oolite sized sand?
or
2) Should I buy two inches of Oolite sand and mix it with my existing sand?
or
3) Should I just replace all the sand with the Oolite sand?
