Hey guys...
Been off-line for a while and after my move from windsor things were a bit hectic till i have settled in the new place here in edmonton.

Been playing with the idea of starting up a new reef tank and this is what i have in mind:
- 150 or 180 Gal (48x24x28 or 48x24x36 as you noticed i like deep tanks )
- Protostar 2x 250W or 400W MH with 2 HOT5 ( depending with what tank im gonna go with )
- Aqua Euro Recirculating 265 Skimmer
- Sequence - Dart pump

Thats just for now...
As far as stocking will be moderate and mostly will be softies and maybe a clam or two. As far as fish go i like tangs a lot and most likely will be medium size.

any input guys ??

Ohhh ...
almost forgot..
the sump will be in the region of 60-90 gallons with refuge and plenty of room for some macro :) (had good luck with it on the last setup)

UPDATE:

spent the last couple of days thinkering with sump/re-fuge ideas...

44 x 22 x 22 - total volume - 92.1 Gal
8 x 11 x 22 - lost volume - 8.3 Gal ( Dart )
- Actual Volume - 83.8 Gal ( Filled to the rim )

26.375 x 14 x 16 - Fuge Area - 25.5 Gal

heres the final Sump design...

Make the box rectangular, with four sides, instead of six. You can put in a partition in the corner to get the same effect as the six-sided one above, and it is easier to construct, stronger, and less likely to leak.

The reason behind the 6 sides is because i want too fit the biggest sump i can under the stand, and the "cut-out" is for the main pump to fit down below.
remember ...
My tank is 48" long and my sump is 44" which it leaves me no room for any sort of reactor or other externaly run equipment.
And as of last night after a extensive reading, the whole system will be kept an eye on with the Reef Keeper Elite.
Will add a phosban reactor and a calcium reactor latter on, but have to figgure out how and where they will be setup.

Can't you get a in-sump pump so that you don't need to have the cutout? :?

i already have the Dart ...
and its plenty for what im gonna use it for unless i make the stand longer,
but then it will look funny since its gonna look like i put a 4' tank on a 5' stand, but that will give me more room for the calcium reactor and the phosban reactor as well.
