Safe rope

I need to make a fishing net but cannot be anything toxic for my land hermit crabs.
Anyone know if these ropes would be OK:
Cotton - biodegradable
Jute twine - biodegradable
Hession

I acnnot get fishing nets in OZ except for the plastic/toxic stuff

Why is plastic automatically toxic? There are many chemically inert plastics. I'm really not sure what kind of a net you need, though. I'm thinking along the lines of reptile hammocks, perhaps you could find one in a local pet shop and try that.

how about a cotton net? You could use fish net stockings.
