Ok guys so I'm startig to dose my tak with calcium and Alk. I just took a base line reading and this is what i got
PO .25
KH 6 degree's
PH 8.2
Ca 840ppm
THis doesnt sound right to me. It seems the Ca is super high but I havent' been adding any calcium. The LFS guy said my ALk should be around 14. So I added some Alk.
I'm using BrightWell Aquatics Reef Code A and B. Is this good stuff. I'm also gonna add a bag of PO remover soon but wanna get the testing results on track first. Any suggestions would be great. thanks

What test kits are you using? Some are more reliable than others.

FWIW It's not unusual to have initially high calcium.

I think you will find the 800ppm will slowly drop over the next few weeks.

I would just add baking soda to keep alk up to about 8 degrees or so.

then when calcium hits say 400ppm or so start dosing calcium and alk (part a and b) equally.

You may want to research the diy two part also.

And make sure magnesium is around 1350ppm or so.

I am pleased to see the comment by beaslbob re: high calcium. I have just started my first tank and all my parameters are decent except that calcium is, I thought, way high! I am also getting readings in the 700's.

Hopefully I will see start to drop as my cycle continues. Thx
